Ops and Info lists opportunities for entering shows, ongoing events to expand your craft, and products of interest.

Setup and Lighting
An exhibition displays a wall of paintings. Some you walk past; some you stop and say "Wow!" What creates the difference? Brenda Hash discussed the key questions that get you started on a good painting before ever touching the paper.

Why do I want to paint this subject?
What am I trying to relate to the viewer?
How do I achieve it?

Answer those 3 questions BEFORE PICKING UP THE PASTEL.

In the first 2 photos below, Brenda demonstrated different lighting effects during the morning presentation to all members. Liz Czerewaty, model.

The Big Eye
In her afternoon mini-workshop, Brenda demonstrated and explained anatomy and techniques to paint the eye correctly. She finished with unbelievable depth and roundness of the eye, all on flat paper, in the last photo.
