PSST 2019 Christmas Lunch

2019 PSST Christmas Lunch and Santa Swap.
Smiles, laughs, stories, candy canes, yummy food, and fingers-crossed-no-one-will-take-my-present kind of day. December 7th was the grand finale of PSST's year of all things pastel. 2019 gave us demonstrations by top notch artists, unbelievable beauty in exhibitions, uncountable hours of volunteerism, and a kinship with people who love this most beautiful medium of all, pastel.

We hope you make every effort to catch all the super happenings planned for 2020.

Until then, graciously enjoy this unedited slideshow of very candid moments.

Betty James is the PSST November Member Gallery Artist
Betty is our resident pastel pencil and Santa Claus master! Her paintings of Santa have become everyone's favorite painting to steal during our annual Christmas lunch and gift swap. From workshops to a PSST demo, Betty has been sharing her method of creating those small beauties.

Betty attends weekly (or more) live model painting sessions and her portrait technique and quick painting skills with pastel pencils are making 2 hour history! Several of her portraits were shown at the October PSST meeting. The level of completion is such a short time is remarkable.

This painting, Contemplation, was juried into Art of the Pastel 2019. Betty co-chaired AOTP, handling everything from prospectus to awards.

Some of her work may be seen on Facebook.
