The finished paintings from February 2013 Paint Around. About 15 artists made their strokes of pastel and color choices on each painting. Beautiful perfection in an hour and a half! Four lucky people got to take them home. Join us on January 4 for our second annual Paint Around. It's fun, relaxing, informal, and social. Jerry's Artarama Houston, 10:30. See Programs for details.  2013 Paint-Around JANUARY 4 ~ Paint-Around
We're starting 2014 with the program that was the most fun last year: a short discussion on pastel papers, comparing Wallis, Uart, Canson Mi-Tientes, Pastelbord, and Sennelier, followed by a Paint-Around. Five easels will be set up in a circle, with different pastel papers and reference photos taped to each easel. Each member, in rotation, will paint on all papers. Rotations will be timed, beginning with four minutes and quickly counting down to one minute. Painting on someone else's work and watching the different techniques and color choices is the fun part. The reward part is that the paintings will go home with members, by blind draw. This is an informal, walk around, talk, and socialize event, concentrating only when it's your turn to paint! Meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. at Jerry's Artarama, 12974 Willow Chase, Houston. A short business meeting will precede the Paint-Around. Guests are always welcome. |
