New look on PSST website. Trends change, from fashion and home decor to websites. What looked great a year ago can look dated today. The PSST website was redesigned through Weebly a couple of weeks ago. Today's post by Alyson Stanfield emphasizes why you may need to look at your website with a critical eye. Most website hosts have templates predesigned with color, but those colors can easily be changed. Try Color Scheme Designer to come up with a new look. You can spin the wheel for tones or values or click the menu for complementary, triads, etc. Neat tool.

In my presentation at the April meeting, I lightly touched on photographing your artwork, for historical reasons and for entering competitions. I did not go into detail but instead gave a link for an excellent YouTube video covering the how-to's. (The link is in the document at the bottom of our Member's Only page.) An article written by Brian Sherwin for Fine Art Views newsletter emphasizes the importance of correct lighting. Comments by readers are always interesting, and one of the comments includes a link to photographing shiny paintings. Might be helpful. FAV newsletter is emailed daily, always interesting, and you don't have to have a FASO website to subscribe. There's a subscribe link in the left column of the newsletter.
