photograph and edit ~ always!

The best piece of marketing advice for an artist? Photograph every painting.

Your paintings chronicle your path and growth as an artist. Take a photo of every painting, from your beginning as a student all the way to your more accomplished artwork. The photos become your history; appear in press releases, publications and social media; get you into exhibitions; and give you a sense of pride as you see how your work evolves.
PSST suggests the following presentations on photography and editing.

how to photograph your artwork

This video by Otis College Faculty Chris Warner demonstrates how to Digitally Photograph Two-Dimensional Art.
Chris goes step by step through the procedure so that you can make the best possible representation of your own art.

how to Prepare your files for competition

Christine Ivers illustrates in detail how to edit photos of your art. As a semi-retired advertising professional, Christine not only teaches painting but also helps artists to become better acquainted with today's digital needs.

Instructions are fully demonstrated in slideshow format, in four popular editing procedures. Even if you do not have the software version indicated, the instructions will likely relate to other versions.
