A stunning demonstration of pastel skills - that was Liz Haywood-Sullivan for the December 5 virtual meeting of the Pastel Society of Southeast Texas. These photos were taken of a computer screen, so they are a little blurry (sorry, Liz), but they provide an excellent representation of how Liz developed a pastel landscape..
Photos: (1) The underpainting process, (2) first layer of local color on bottom half of painting (3) progressing into the trees and sky (4) the Necessary Neutrals set chosen by Liz for her Girault personalized set available at pasteletc.com (5) the painting with sparkling warm light and neutralized shadows -- in less than one hour.
The recorded demo will be available for PSST members only to view; it is packed with techniques and awesome tips.
