Step out of your studio for a moment ....

We know you’re busy putting the finishing touches on your Art of the Pastel 2016 entry, but put down that Terry Ludwig pastel blue you oh-so cherish for just one minute and focus. PSST needs your help with a few items, namely:

Volunteer to help with the actual show!

Solicit companies for prizes.
Caroline Ratliff is heading the effort to get additional prizes for entries. Frames, art supplies and related art items are needed. If you have connection with a vendor, contact Caroline at [email protected]. She has the details – and now, as PSST is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit, donations are tax deductible up to the extent allowed by law.

Art of the Pastel 2016 is set for The Gallery at Round Top from October through November 26, 2016.

Hello everyone, it is time to get your submissions ready for the Pastel Society of America's 44th Annual Exhibition, Enduring Brilliance. It will be held in the Grand Gallery at the National Arts Club in New York. Selectors are Judith Cutler, Richard McKinley and Jimmy Wright. Awards Juror is Mark Mitchell. PaintAround PSST Style

Fun, laughs, and "Oh, I cannot do this" preceded the PSST annual PaintAround. What followed it were 7 outstanding original paintings, each one painted by 14 artists.

7 easels were lined up, each with different pastel papers, palettes, and reference photos. Linda Dellandre started the timer, as the first group of 7 artists were given 4 minutes to start a painting, Then the second group of 7 had 4 minutes. As the 2 groups rotated, each time stepping to the next painting, the time whittled down to 1 frantic minute. At the end, names were drawn and 7 lucky artists got to take a painting home.
