 We are all so proud of Brenda Hash who recently received some very exciting news. Her pastel painting, "Thought's of Elberta," was selected out of 1689 entries as one of the final 41 paintings to be considered for top awards in the Portrait Society of America's International Portrait Competition this year. The 16th Annual International Portrait Competition will be held in Washington, D.C. April 24-27, 2014.

We are back to our regular meeting schedule on Saturday, April 5, 10:30, at Jerry's Artarama Houston. Carolyn Hancock will present hints, tips and techniques about websites, blogging, Facebook, and photographing artwork in her program, Tell Me You Are an Artist. (Hint #1: did you know that your Facebook cover photo  Sharon Haney was one of the artists invited to show her art work at the Weston Lakes Garden Club Art Show event. Over 100 people were in attendance. A Spanish guitarist played throughout the evening as the guests enjoyed wine and appetizers while viewing the art work displayed by many of the local artists. It was a wonderful way to showcase art in the neighborhood and also a very enjoyable evening meeting new neighbors and visiting with other artists and friends.
