Turn Around and Look, golf course painting by Carolyn Hancock
You and PSST during covid19 Social Distancing from PSST member Carolyn Hancock. Painting people is where my artistic heart is, but sometimes the easel asks for some outdoor stuff. These two landscapes (6x8 inches) are views of my home golf course.
I have been extremely grateful to have playing golf as an option during this time. The three 9 hole courses of Pecan Grove Plantation Country Club challenge us. With 27 holes, my husband and I can play any afternoon and not see any other players---until now, that is. The Stay Home mandate resulted in so many members working from home or waiting to resume work, the course is always full.
But the most welcoming thing about it is the courtesy and thoughtfulness of everyone. The Pro Shop set up a desk at the doorway so that members could remain outside to check in and maintain distance. Flags remained in the holes during putting; we foot raked sand traps; water containers were empty; ball washers removed; one person per cart (except for couples). The fitness center was closed. Patio chairs were stored. All possible precautions were taken by the club to insure the safety of members.
